As we're all isolated and often confined to a limited space, we may need to get more creative when it comes to photographing at home.

If you need some ideas to get started, watch this short video to see how to make really good use of a shower curtain.

The guys from Mango Street create fantastic content for those who are relatively new to photography, and this video is no exception. As they are happy to admit, neither of them are models, and this project is a nice reminder that posing in front of a camera isn't that easy.

Even if your modelling skills aren't quite up to scratch, it still looks fun and you can pick up some skills along the way.

A few bonus tips: window light can be perfect, but direct sunlight can be too harsh.

If you come across hard shadows, don't forget that you can always search online for some sheer curtains to help diffuse the light, making your model's photos more flattering.

Secondly, if you're struggling with the smoothness of your shower curtain or sheet, don't forget to check out this tutorial by Unmesh Dinda from PiXimperfect on removing wrinkles from backgrounds.

Mango Street has a few tips towards the end of the video to help you get started with tidying up. And don't forget that if Photoshop is too expensive, you can now try Affinity Photo free for three months.

If you have any other tips, leave them in the comments below.

I recently used throws as a backdrop. Draped them over two dining chairs and voila. Works perfectly! Small tip, stand a bit further away from the backdrop so your background becomes a bit blurrier.

@Heleen: good idea! Don't you actually need to move your model a bit farther from the background to see it blurred in your photo?
