Photofacts Photos community guidelines
Version: 24 October 2026
Photofacts Photos is the place to share your own photos and videos with other photographers, and to help each other improve. These guidelines keep it a good place to be. They apply to everything you post: posts, captions, comments and your profile.
Only your own work
- Only post photos and videos you made yourself.
- No photos by others, not even with credit. An edit of someone else's photo only with their permission.
People in your photos
- Is someone recognisable in your photo, especially in a private setting? Ask their permission.
- No photos of children who aren't yours without their parents' permission.
- If someone in your photo asks you to take it down, please do.
Nudity
- Artistic nudity is allowed, of adults only. Always tick Contains nudity.
- Posts with nudity are only shown to adults who choose to see them.
- No pornography and no sexual acts.
- Never any sexualised images of minors. We always report this to the police.
Not allowed
- Violent or gory images meant only to shock.
- Hate and discrimination, based on who someone is or what they believe.
- Harassment, threats or ridiculing someone.
- Promoting self-harm or eating disorders.
- Anything illegal, or encouraging others to do something illegal.
- Spam, advertising and chain messages.
- Fake accounts, and pretending to be someone else.
Comments
Critique is welcome: it's how you become a better photographer. Keep it about the photo, not the person, and stay friendly, even when you disagree.
What we do
- Every post goes through an automatic check before it goes online. If the check is unsure, a moderator looks at the post first.
- We review reports within 24 hours.
- If a post or comment breaks these guidelines, we remove or hide it. We always tell you why.
- For repeated or serious violations we block your account, temporarily or permanently.
Reporting and appeals
See something that doesn't belong? Use Report on the post, comment or profile in the app. No account? Email info@photofacts.nl with a link to what you want to report.
Disagree with a decision about your post or account? Appeal in the app (on the post) or email us. We'll take another look, with a different pair of eyes than the automatic check.
These guidelines are part of the terms of Photofacts Photos.
