At the end of 2024, SmallRig launched the Potato Jet Tribex tripod. An SE version of this tripod has now been released. It is more compact, improved and cheaper too.

The SmallRig x Potato Jet Tribex tripod is a collaboration between a well-known YouTuber and the manufacturer. The unique feature of this tripod is the hydraulic X-clutch system. This lets you set the tripod to the right height in no time.

To get an idea of how this system works, you can watch the video below. In it, I show the tripod that was released at the end of December. Read the review of that tripod here on the blog.

The second tripod in this series is the SmallRig x Potato Jet Tribex SE. It is a more compact tripod with a less comprehensive tripod head. This could be ideal if you work with a more compact hybrid video system.

This SE version has a number of small but significant improvements. But more importantly, the price is considerably more favourable compared with its bigger brother.

SmallRig sent me the tripod for a review. This review should be ready by the end of August. The first impression is favourable, at least.

The SmallRig x Potato Jet Tribex SE will be available from the end of August and will cost 452.90 euros.
