With the Fotocast app, you always know whether the weather is suitable for photography. The app also predicts whether the good weather will last or clouds will move in, so you need to hurry with your photography. The only limitation is that you cannot see the weather at a specific time.

Fotocast
As a (professional) photographer, you know that you are heavily dependent on the weather for outdoor photos. And that the weather is completely unpredictable. Just when you want to take a great photo, the sun often disappears behind the clouds.
The Fotocast app aims to solve this by providing hyperlocal weather information, tailored to your needs as a photographer.
When you start the app for the first time, you give permission to share your location, so the app knows where you are. You can also enter what type of photographer you are. This allows the app to take into account the conditions you are likely to need for great photos.
A score between 0 and 10 indicates whether the outdoor weather conditions are optimal for photography. You receive warnings when it is going to rain, as well as tips on which type of photos are most suitable for the current weather conditions.
This means you immediately know which equipment to take with you and whether you need to bring, for example, lights or flashguns.
Best lighting conditions
Information is also provided about the temperature, how cloudy it is and the wind speed. Humidity, sunrise and sunset can also be seen. Not just for the current moment, but also the forecast for the rest of the week.
You can even view the direction of the sun on a specific day in the app. This means you know exactly when the light is coming from the right direction to take a photo.
You can also set when you want to go out to take photos, and Fotocast warns you if it would be better to cancel your photo session because of bad weather.
Fotocast also knows when golden hour and blue hour are. If you are not yet very experienced in photography, you can view examples from other photographers taken in the same weather conditions.
Fotocast Premium
You can download and use Fotocast for free. But you can also purchase Fotocast Premium. This costs 2.99 euros per month, 30.99 euros per year or 21.99 euros as a one-off payment.
That may sound a little illogical in terms of pricing, but it is a one-off discount because the app has just been released.
Fotocast Premium includes the option to keep track of all kinds of information about the photos you take, such as the places you have visited to take photos, all the equipment you use and much more.

A. Pien wrote on Saturday 16 June 2018 at 09:15 | replyApp downloaded and set up. The current weather at my location is completely off. It’s cloudy and the weather is very stable, but the App says it’s raining and very windy. My other weather Apps don’t make that mistake. An App can have so many features, but the weather does need to be accurate. So it’s gone.
