Street photography tip: Photograph minimalism in the countryside

As well as often being simply more beautiful areas to walk in, the countryside offers plenty of challenges for the street photographer.

Every farm tells a story, cyclists pass by at all times and a startled flock of geese makes a fantastic background for your photo of the lone walker on the dike.
The countryside is clear and uncluttered. Without the chaos of the city, it is easier to isolate subjects, but also to work with silhouettes.
The countryside has natural leading lines, such as the road through the meadows or the plough lines in the land. There are also natural frames everywhere, such as a row of old willows or a pile of kindling along the road.
Also look for the stalls where you can pick up a jar of jam or a bag of potatoes for a few euros. They are often gathering places for people, and they always produce a few good shots.
