The beach might well be one of my favourite places for street photography. Yes, even without a street. There is always something happening on the beach.
In winter, the biting wind creates a sea of blowing sand, from which figures come walking towards you. Take your dog with you, because photos of your dog on the beach are almost always successful photos.
In summer, when you can barely move for people, there are regularly striking scenes to photograph. The man putting up the windbreak, or the woman in the folding chair with the newspaper over her head. Children desperately trying to save their sandcastle from the advancing tide.
To let those people get on with what they are doing undisturbed, you could take your 70-200mm zoom lens to the beach, for example. You can get closer without disturbing them, while also having a 70mm focal length for taking the occasional requested portrait.
People are out, cheerful, and only too happy to receive a keepsake from you, so take your business card with you!
