Tip: corners and lines

We recently talked about lines in a shot, and this is actually the perfect addition to that. Both shots in this article were taken during a recent workshop with our model Sheena.
If you photograph something like this, you will often sit down, point your camera, compose the shot, direct the model and shoot.

The point is ... .. during the workshop I asked those present which photo they liked best. And do not be surprised that some absolutely did not like the photo below. They did like the image above, though!
I asked them to forget about the pose for a moment and focus only on the lines in the background. And of course, some now thought the photo below was the best (I am one of them).

As you may have guessed, there is of course a reason why I am posting this as a tip. If you photograph a scene like this, do not just sit down, direct your model and take the photo ... ... no .... also make sure you take note of those leading lines, because they can make or break your photo.
So discuss with your client or yourself what you like best. Or even better, photograph all the possible options, just to be sure!
