There are currently some great television programmes to watch on Netflix, Amazon Prime and online that are about photography and photographers. However, the way we watch TV has changed very drastically in recent years.
Streaming services such as Netflix and Amazon Prime provide strong competition for traditional broadcast, cable and satellite services, which have responded with their own on-demand offerings. And with other media giants entering the battle furiously, from Disney and Apple to Twitter and Facebook, there is now more TV to watch than ever before.

But although that is theoretically a good thing, in practice it can be remarkably difficult to find what you are looking for among the huge amount of content.
That is why we have this list, compiled by Digital Camera World, featuring the very best TV series currently available about photography. From reality shows to inspiring documentaries.
Some are old, others are new. Some are free to watch, while others require a subscription service. But they all offer first-class entertainment, and at the same time you learn something about using your camera and/or photography, depending on where your interests lie.
If you are a fan of competitive reality shows full of drama, there is 'Top Photographer with Nigel Barker'. But if you would rather learn more about photography and the industry, 'Sky Arts' Masters of Photography' might be for you.
Although it is still a fairly subjective show, and you may strongly disagree with the opinions and assessments of the changing panel of judges.

Leaving reality TV and drama aside, other options include inspiring documentaries that follow various photographers and their adventures around the world, such as 'Tales of Light', 'Wild Photo Adventures', 'Chasing Ice' and more.
If you are more of a history buff, you may be interested in documentaries such as 'Duffy: The Man Who Shot The Sixties', which you can watch for free. 'Everybody Street' or 'Conflict' are interesting if you want to learn more about the devastating after-effects of experiencing war and violence through a lens.
'Abstract, the art of Design' takes you behind the scenes with leading creatives in various disciplines, including architecture, graphic design, illustration and even shoe design. Episode 7 is about photography, and you should not miss it.

'Tierney Gearon: The Mother Project' is a documentary about the relationship between a photographer and her mother. You can watch it online for free.
The list contains various other titles and subjects that may interest you. With such a large selection, there is something for everyone. Have a look and let us know if you can recommend any other interesting films, TV programmes or documentaries.
