The first edition of Canon Talks took place last Tuesday. At this event, which was live-streamed on YouTube and Facebook, three photographers talked about their work. The audience, both in person and online, could also ask questions straight away.
You can still watch the full programme below. Now, of course, without the opportunity to ask questions.
I was invited to attend in person. The observant viewer may still be able to spot me.
The three speakers were Gergo Kaszimer, Pie Aerts and Joel Santos. All three are nature and travel photographers. Travel photography was therefore the subject of this first Canon Talks.
Humberto Tan hosted the programme. After taking part in Het Perfecte Plaatje, he has also continued to work as a photographer.
The photographers first gave a talk about their work, one at a time. Gergo stood out a little with his story. Personally, I found Pie and Joel's talks more interesting to listen to.
Of course, they all showed some beautiful photos too. After the individual talks, they sat next to each other on stage and questions could be asked.
In my opinion, it was a successful evening with a nice format. Canon handled the production in a very professional way and the stories were interesting. I am not much of a travel photographer myself, but the conversations were fascinating to listen to.

Canon Talk Podcast
On Wednesday, a podcast was also recorded in which the same photographers answered even more questions. The winner of a Canon EOS RP was also announced here.

It is not yet known whether there will be a follow-up to Canon Talks, but I certainly hope so. A nice interactive format and well worth watching a possible next edition live via YouTube or Facebook.
