Tonight saw another episode of The Perfect Picture on RTL4. In the elimination round, the contestants went to the Biesbosch for colourful nature photos and photographed a model with a musical instrument in an urbex setting.

Colourful nature photos

The remaining Dutch celebrities got to work in national park the Biesbosch for the first assignment. The guest judge was landscape photographer Bas Meelker, also known for his online landscape photography masterclass at Photofacts Academy. knipoog

For this shoot, the contestants used the Canon EOS R6 with a Canon RF 85mm f/2 Macro lens. They could also choose from two other lenses, but in the end everyone went for the macro.

Not a strange choice either, as the assignment was to make a colourful photo. Macro photography is the easiest solution for that, especially in the rather grey weather they had that day.

Urbex with a musical model

The second assignment was to photograph an urbex location. A model with a musical instrument also had to be in the frame, but the urbex location had to be the subject.

The guest judges for this assignment were urbex photographer Susanne Timmer and Martijn Walet. The Dutch celebrities got to work with the Canon EOS 90D and either an EF-S 10-18mm wide-angle lens or the EF-S 18-135mm.

As well as the available light, they could also use an Aladdin LED lamp.

Patrick won this assignment. Quite rightly, in my opinion, although I did think a 9 was a little on the high side for a score. To be honest, I found the results of both shoots a little disappointing this week.

Eliminated

Abbey had to leave the programme this week.

Next week

Next week, the Dutch celebrities will take to the air in a helicopter to take photos through the open door. For their second assignment, they will use men as models for women's products.

Urbex with a person in it. Um,... okay, that's a bit different from the real urbex photographers. But a real distracting factor is the comments from the " experts" during judging. Brrrr
    Photo-shooting regards Robert
