For those who find 609mm is not enough reach, the lens also works with the existing Fujifilm teleconverters. With the 1.4x converter, it becomes a 560mm f/6.3, giving an angle of view comparable to approximately 853mm on full-frame. With the 2x converter, you even get 800mm f/9, or approximately 1,219mm converted.

Optically, the lens consists of 21 elements in 14 groups, including two Super ED and four ED elements. The lens is also sealed against dust and moisture at twenty points and, according to Fujifilm, can be used in temperatures down to -10 degrees Celsius.

The FUJINON XF400mmF4.5 R LM OIS WR will have a recommended retail price of 2,899 euros in the Netherlands and should be available within a week or two.
