Nikon has announced a new superzoom lens from the Z series. It lets you zoom from 28mm all the way to 400mm. This is an impressive 14.2x zoom range. It is a compact and lightweight lens for any Nikon mirrorless camera.

This superzoom lens weighs just 725 grams. This makes it very suitable for taking with you when travelling. The Z 28-400mm has image stabilisation of up to 5.5 stops, making it easier to photograph with a 400mm focal length.
Focusing is lightning-fast thanks to the stepping motor. The minimum focusing distance is 20 centimetres at 28mm and 1.2 metres at 400mm. This results in a maximum magnification of 0.35x.
The lens is weather-sealed and has a zoom lock. A square lens hood is included.
The Z 28-400mm f/4-8 VR will be available from mid-2024 at a recommended retail price of 1,549 euros.
