The Nikon Zf is a lovely retro-style full-frame digital camera. The Zf has been on sale since 2023, but the camera is now also available with a silver finish. This is a perfect match for the Nikon F cameras that used to be available.

Under the bonnet, nothing has changed, by the way. It is exactly the same camera (which is perfectly good, by the way).

Besides the standard silver and black version, a range of colour accents for the covering will be available. Familiar shades such as Moss Green, Stone Gray and Sepia Brown are returning, and Nikon is adding three “premium” colours: Cognac Brown, Teal Blue and Mauve Pink. Those last three colours will also be available for the black Zf.

To take the nostalgia a little further, Nikon is announcing a firmware update that should be released this year. It includes a new Film Grain function that can add grain to photos and videos.

You can choose from three grain sizes and six levels of intensity, and it works together with Nikon's Imaging Recipes (downloadable image recipes via Nikon Imaging Cloud) and the existing Picture Controls. Creating a cinematic atmosphere in-camera will therefore become much easier. An exact release date for the firmware update has not yet been announced.

The Nikon Zf Silver edition should become available at the end of this month and will cost 2,499 euros. You can already pre-order it from Cameranu.nl.
