The French start-up announced it two years ago, but you can now actually order it. The Pixii camera. An unusual camera with no screen or memory cards.

Instead, you have to connect the camera to your smartphone wirelessly. You can view and save your photos on it. The camera itself does have 4 (or 8) gigabytes of internal memory, so you do not have to stay connected to your smartphone all the time.
The Pixii has an M-mount. This means you can use M-mount lenses, such as those from Leica, with this camera. The A1112, as the first model is called, has a 12-megapixel CMOS sensor and shoots photos in DNG (or JPEG) format.
The ISO range runs from 320 to 2560 and the camera weighs 460 grams. You have to focus manually, as there is no autofocus.

Despite the lack of a screen and memory card slot, the rangefinder camera is not cheap. You have to pay no less than 3,480 euros for this unusual camera.
It sounds like quite a nice camera. Something special to have alongside your main camera. If it had cost a few hundred euros, I think it would sell quite well. At this price, I would personally go for a proper Leica instead.
Interested?
You can find more information about the camera on the Pixii website.
