Sony has announced a new lens today, the Sony FE 35mm f/1.4 GM. This is Sony's 39th lens with an E-mount for Sony's mirrorless cameras. There is already a 35mm f/1.4, but this version is supposed to be better.

The new lens is nice and light, weighing just 524 grams. That's more than 100 grams less than the Zeiss 35mm f/1.4 that is already available. It's also a little more compact.

The lens consists of 14 elements in 10 groups. It can focus from 27 centimetres.

Sony's new 35mm will be available at the end of this month and has a retail price of 1,700 euros.
