A beautiful sunset can be very rewarding to photograph. Especially with a beautiful cloudscape, it can produce fantastic photos.

We tend to head home straight after sunset. But stay a little longer, because twilight can also produce unusual photos.

Many landscape photographers are obsessed with sunrises and sunsets. And for good reason, because the light can be very beautiful at these times of day. We head home with a satisfied feeling after photographing a beautiful sunset.

Wonderful, a sunset like this. But why go straight home afterwards? Stay a little longer.

It can be worth staying a little longer after sunset. Things do not stop once the sun has disappeared behind the horizon. As you know, the light has not disappeared either.

The golden hour is quickly followed by the blue hour, which actually lasts no longer than about fifteen minutes. The light can be very special then, even with a cloudless sky. The colours in the sky can run through a whole rainbow of shades until night falls.

A moment after sunset. Fantastic light that was even more beautiful than the setting sun itself. These are anticrepuscular rays in the opposite direction to the sunset.

But even with clouds in the sky, nature can still surprise you. If the clouds are low, they can turn beautifully red during sunset. If the clouds are very high, however, they only take on their colour after sunset. You do not want to miss that.

So always stay on for a while after sunset and do not go straight home. Mother Nature may still have some beautiful moments in store for you. You certainly do not want to miss them.
