British contact lens retailer Lenstore has released a 7.3-gigapixel "time-lapse" of London. Titled 24 Hour London, the images show England's capital over a 24-hour period in February 2018.
TechRadar reports that the project was a collaboration between Lenstore, photographer Henry Stuart from Visualize, Nikon and Canary Wharf Group.
24 separate 7.3-gigapixel (7,300 megapixel) photos were taken for each hour of the day, using a total of 6,240 photos taken with a robotic mount and then combined into the larger ultra-high-resolution images.
When the 24 photos are played back, they form a unique 'gigalapse' showing a day in London with an incredible amount of detail.
Henry Stuart took the photos with a Nikon D850 with a 45-megapixel full-frame sensor combined with a Nikon 300mm f/2.8 lens, reports TechRadar. This camera kit gave each individual photo a wide range: you can read the words on signs from 8 kilometres away.
This is the resulting 24-photo time-lapse, which you can view through an interactive viewer on the official website.
