Digital film roll for your analogue camera

Many photographers still have an analogue camera lying around. In this digital age, you often no longer fancy all the hassle of developing and printing. I'm Back Film has come up with a digital film roll.

The digital film roll gets a 20-megapixel Four Thirds Sony sensor. Unfortunately, that means no full-frame, but apparently that would be rather unaffordable, at 1,500 dollars for the sensor alone in small production runs.

The smaller sensor means you get a 2x crop factor in the image you see. I'm Back Film has several solutions for this, such as a wide-angle conversion lens.

There is also a rather vague teaser film.

Unfortunately, it is not just the digital film roll. It needs to work with an extra 'grip' that you attach to the bottom of your analogue camera. This includes a 1.5-inch screen for viewing your photos.

This is not the first time such a concept has come along. Unfortunately, there has never been a genuinely successful project that puts this idea into practice properly.

Do you think this project is just what you are looking for? Then sign up now on the Kickstarter page. The project should go live soon.
