A typical niche case, like: look at me, I only do black and white.
What you already write, if you want black and white just use the standard one, and edit afterwards, or in your camera's settings no option for black and white, I've already been able to do some nice things with that myself.
The argument from Leica will probably be: the image gets better, because there is no Bayer filter in between, as if that would be visible.
