Ricoh Pentax has a new camera: the GR IV Monochrome. It has a fixed lens and can only take black and white photos. But that comes at a price, literally.

The Ricoh GR IV Monochrome can therefore only take black and white photos. The camera has a fixed 18.3 mm focal length, equivalent to 28 mm full-frame, with an f/2.8 aperture. The camera is very small and easy to carry with you. It weighs just 272 grams.
The entire design is focused on black and white, with dark lettering on the camera. There is a PASM dial on top and control dials for easy operation. The camera has around 53 GB of internal memory, but this can be expanded with a micro SD card.
The photos taken by the GR IV Monochrome have a resolution of 26 megapixels, and are therefore in black and white. Although the camera is cheaper than a black and white Leica M or Q, it costs 450 euros more than the standard colour version.
The Ricoh GR IV Monochrome costs 1,799 euros and will be available from mid-February 2026.
