Phase One has announced the Infinity Platform today, a full-frame medium-format camera system. Three digital backs were announced immediately: the 151-megapixel IQ4 150MP, the 151-megapixel IQ4 150MP Achromatic (black and white) and the 101-megapixel IQ100MP Trichromatic.
Both 151-megapixel sensors use BSI sensors from Sony. The full-frame medium-format sensor is 2.5 times larger than a full-frame sensor in a DSLR and also considerably larger than the medium-format sensors you find in, for example, the Fujifilm GFX 50S.

According to Phase One, their popular RAW editing software Capture One is built in, although it is still not entirely clear to me how they envisage this. It should make the camera faster and produce better JPEGs, although I cannot imagine that you would want to shoot JPEGs with this megapixel monster.
In the future, the built-in Capture One could perhaps be used to create HDR images in the camera, which would be written to the card (only) as PSD files, for example.
Talking of memory cards, the IQ4 comes with an XQD card slot and an SD slot. You can also send the photos directly to your computer via Wi-Fi, USB-C and an Ethernet connection.
Price and availability
The new digital backs should come to market in October and have a price that is, of course, only within reach of die-hard professionals.
The Phase One XF IQ4 150MP costs 51,990 dollars. The XF IQ4 100MP Trichromatic will cost 47,990 dollars and the XF IQ4 150MP Achromatic is even priced at 54,990 dollars.

150MP is of course really cool to have, but you do need the right subject to actually make the resolution shine. Diffraction already becomes limiting at f/6 (same as f/4 on full frame), so for maximum detail with a large depth of field in a landscape you already have to focus stack.

And of course the lens used must also deliver sufficient sharpness at this aperture.
