Sigma has announced a new supertelephoto lens for the Sony E-mount and the Panasonic/Sigma/Leica L-mount. The lens features image stabilisation, which is certainly useful at these focal lengths.

The minimum focusing distance ranges from 58 to 280 centimetres (at 150 to 600mm). The lens consists of 25 elements in 15 groups.
With a maximum aperture of f/5, it isn't particularly fast. This lens is therefore mainly useful on a summer's day with plenty of light. With slightly less available light, you'll soon need to increase your sensor's sensitivity.
At a weight of 2.1 kilograms, this isn't a lens you can just throw into your bag. It is also 26.4 centimetres long. The filter size is 95 mm.
DP Review has already tested the lens and shares some of its findings in the video below.
