Sometimes you see a great photo opportunity, but you just can't seem to take the beautiful photo you have in mind. In your photo, a lamppost grows out of someone's head, or a hat blends into the shrubs in the background.
As with other photos, your viewpoint is very important in street photography. Your viewpoint is the point from which your lens is aimed at your subject.
Because you are walking around, you may be tempted to take a photo standing up, with the camera at eye level. To be honest, these are usually the most boring photos. Photos are surprising when you do not immediately realise where the photographer actually is.
Looking for a different viewpoint is easy. Do not hold your camera at eye level when you are standing, but move it to a different position. Sit down, photograph from a bridge, hold your camera above your head.
I often have the camera around my neck on its strap, and shoot from the hip. The basic rule is: change your viewpoint and take a more interesting photo.
