Street photography tip: Use the worm's-eye view

I think I do a squat 20 times a day. Not because I'm much of a sportsman, far from it, but because I like using the worm's-eye view. With this perspective, you place your camera almost on the ground.
In street photography, you often see photos of people walking away from you, photographed from this perspective. The photo you take just above that fresh puddle is also taken from a worm's-eye view.
As well as often giving us a natural foreground, the worm's-eye view also gives our subject a certain sense of grandeur. We are literally looking up at the subject. We make ourselves small, making the subject hugely important in our photo.
Give it a try with your next photo: bend your knees and photograph your subject from this low viewpoint. I'm sure you'll be using the worm's-eye view many more times!
