During a workshop by well-known street photographer Fokko Muller, one of the assignments was 'Photograph through a window'. A lovely assignment, because it brings you close to your subject while keeping you at a safe distance.
Stations have large windows, but so do buses and trams, for example. A passing car, a terrace barrier. With the glass as a buffer, a lot is possible. Once the tram doors close, nobody can come out any more. Put that on a tile.
The glass also brings new challenges and opportunities, such as reflections and reflected light. Play with colours, especially when it's lovely and sunny outside. That one ray of sunlight coming in can light a subject beautifully!
