If there is or has been a solar eclipse, there is a good chance that a lunar eclipse is on its way too. The full lunar eclipse on Friday 28 August 2026 will take place as the Moon sets.
You will have to get out of bed early. At around 3:25 am, the Moon moves into the Earth's shadow. The eclipse reaches its maximum at 6:13 am. At around 6:52 am, the Moon disappears behind the horizon.
