On Friday 10 January, there will be another partial lunar eclipse to see. In the Netherlands too, as long as it isn't cloudy, of course. This article once again contains the best tips to help you capture this lunar eclipse beautifully.

The result of Blue Monday 2019, photographed through the bathroom window between 5:00 and 6:00 in the morning

In my own article from last year, in which I photographed the lunar eclipse on Blue Monday, you will also find some useful tips for getting a good result, even in a busy city!

In 2018, Tanja Thomas wrote a very nice article about how to photograph the blood moon on auto. Sometimes even with a very simple compact camera, although with an enormous zoom range.

In 2015, Nando also wrote an article with 10 tips for photographing a lunar eclipse.

In 2007, Elja wrote an interesting article that is certainly still worth reading about how to edit your lunar eclipse photo in the best way.

The moon then moves through the Earth's penumbra (not completely) and not through the umbra, making this eclipse much less spectacular than last year's, as some of the sunlight still reaches the moon. The timing is a lot more pleasant though knipoog.

@Irene: that's completely right, so it's also less spectacular than last year, unfortunately...

The shadow was pretty easy to see!
