Scott Kelby has been the best-selling author of photography books for years. In the second edition of this popular book, he shares more than 200 tips with you. I have already looked through the book for you.

The book is divided into twelve chapters:
- Professional tips for getting sharp photos
- All about lenses
- Taking professional landscape photos
- Taking professional travel photos
- Taking professional portraits
- Use your flash like a professional
- Photographing weddings like a professional
- Photographing sporting events
- Photographing other subjects professionally
- Professional tips for better photos
- Making professional prints
- Photo recipes for taking the perfect photo
Each chapter starts with a supposedly funny story. If you don't appreciate Scott Kelby's typical humour, you can safely skip the introductions. After all, it's the tips given in the chapters that matter.
After some explanation about the book itself at the beginning of the first chapter, each page is one tip from then on. Usually an image followed by the tip in text underneath. A great concept, if you ask me.
The book is an easy read because of this approach. You can easily skip the tips you already know, or quickly scan them, and you can also easily find a tip again later if, for example, you're going to photograph a specific subject.
The tips also often show that Scott himself has a lot of experience with photography. He often gives practical tips that don't always correspond with the 'official theory'.
For example, I thought his advice to photograph with the aperture you bought the lens for was a good tip. So if you buy an expensive 85mm f/1.2 lens, don't go and use it at f/5.6. That's not what you paid so much money for. You bought it for the special effect that f/1.2 can give your photos.
The whole book is filled with these kinds of short, practical tips for all sorts of photography. There are tips for every level, from the absolute basics to tips that even an experienced photographer can still find useful.

So it's a nice, practical little book, packed with useful tips.
Definitely recommended.

This comment was written in another language and has not been translated yet.
Vriendelijke groet,
Sjirk van Gorkum
