Do you want to get started with analogue photography and save on film at the same time? You can now order the Kodak EKTAR H35. When taking a photo, this camera uses only half of a 35mm film roll.

Ik heb thuis nog een paar olympus half frame cameras liggen die het doen.

Het valt me tegenwoordig op dat er veel van dit soort berichten komen (en dan bedoel ik van makers), dat ze met iets geweldigs nieuws komen. Maar wat allang bestaat.

De bekenste is de Olympus Pen (dus de analoge, en niet de digitale )
En de bekende 110 cartidge, is eigenlijk niks meer als 35mm maar dan de helft.

We keren kennelijk weer terug naar de 60er jaren van de Agfa Click en Clack. (Bijna) niets instellen een zeer matig lensje (naar de prijs te oordelen) en dat in half frame formaat. Waarschijnlijk maximaal briefkaart afdrukken. Ik heb jaren lang met de Olympus Pen FT (1, 2 en 4) gefotografeerd met veel plezier. Maar dat waren echte camera's: half frame een oog reflex. Met de 1 moest je nog alles zelf instellen en in de zoeker zag je een wijzertje dat aangaf of de belicht goed was (van + naar -). Een heel goede leerschool, ook voor besef wat de instellingen betekenen.
Ik vraag me af wat de meerwaarde van deze camera is.

Ja, je maakt alleen meer beelden. En waarschijnlijk moet je oo even rekeningen houden met het beeld. Camera in landschapsstand, beeld in portret stand (en andersom natuurlijk)

Halfkleinbeeld, inderdaad. Slim ingespeeld op de huidige markt van jongeren die analoog willen werken. Ik ben juist van kleinbeeld (35mm) overgegaan naar middenformaat/120 om het grotere formaat, naar verhouding kleinere korrel en mooiere (on)scherpte.

Maar, commercieel gezien, slim bedacht dit!
