Eduard Planting Gallery in Amsterdam is presenting an exhibition by Dutch photographer Aleksander Willemse from 11 May to 13 July 2019. With 'Dare to Love', the gallery is showing a selection of colourful flower collages.
The carefully styled images reflect a message of positivity, love and happiness, as an answer to today's information age. Flower power at its finest.
The photographic artist has been an avid collector of flowers since his youth. By now, he has an extensive image archive. For the compositions of his artworks, all the flowers are photographed individually.
With digital collages, he creates modern still lifes to dream away from everyday reality. The intriguing creations can soften and disguise the harsh reality, with a tension between seeing and feeling.
