Drawing a line with a steady hand is fairly easy in Photoshop. You can do this with the Brush or Pencil tool. But how do you make sure it does not become a wobbly line, but a nice, clean one?

You could use the Line tool and set it to a width of 1 pixel, but for this sort of thing, it is better to use the Pencil tool.

This tool is grouped with the Brush tool in the toolbar. Otherwise, press Shift-B until you have it. By default, it draws a 1-pixel line. You just need to select the Pencil and start drawing freely.

If you want to create a straight line, press the Shift key and hold it down. Then click with the Pencil tool where the line should begin, move the cursor to where it should end and click again.

The two points are now connected. It works like a sort of 'join-the-dots' tool.
