Portrait photography tip: Add texture to your background

You don't always need to have a perfect background. You can also choose to shoot your photos against a neutral background and then add a texture in Photoshop in just a few minutes.

It can be useful to take a quick photo of every nice wall or texture you come across.
In Photoshop, you can then place it behind your photo, on the layer underneath, and use a blending mode to easily bring it back into your photo. Reduce the opacity of your texture layer to make the effect less intense.
