Facebook and glasses manufacturer Ray-Ban have announced glasses with a built-in camera under the name Ray-Ban Stories. The smart glasses contain two built-in 5-megapixel cameras, three microphones and speakers.
When you take a photo (or video), an LED light comes on on the glasses to make it clear that you are recording.
With this, Facebook hopes to overcome the objections people had to Google Glass.
You can take a photo by pressing a button on the glasses, but you can also give a voice command. The internal memory can store around 500 photos, but of course you can also easily download them to an app on your phone.

The glasses have a starting price of 359 euros. The glasses are also available with prescription lenses.
The glasses are not yet available in the Netherlands. They are available in the United Kingdom and Italy, for example. More countries should follow soon.

For Facebook, this is the first step towards real Augmented Reality glasses. An interesting development. I expect many more glasses like this in the future, which can connect the digital world with the real world in a useful way.
What do you think of this development?

I suspect you could run into problems because of privacy legislation. Hiding behind 'sunglasses' and possibly a face mask because of some pandemic doesn't seem really cool to me.
