Sony has introduced the smallest and lightest wide-angle zoom lens. The FE 2.8/16-35 GM II promises excellent image quality with very fast autofocus. The lens has an aperture of f/2.8 throughout the zoom range.
This new 16-35mm GM II joins the 24-70mm and 70-200mm. This completes the manufacturer's well-known trinity of lenses.

The new optical design guarantees very high-resolution rendering. The lens is 111.5 mm long and weighs just 547 grams. This makes it 20% lighter than its predecessor.
The lens will be available from September 2023 at a recommended retail price of 2,700 euros. The first version will remain available for the time being at a reduced price of 2,500 euros.
The lens is currently being reviewed. This review will appear here at Photofacts soon.
