The new full-frame Nikon mirrorless cameras will probably be announced tomorrow, but the official press photos appear to have been leaked today. And I think they look good!

It was obviously about time Nikon came up with a proper mirrorless camera for professionals, so it is good news that this finally seems to be happening. The new cameras look good to me: compact and with a clear Nikon look.

What stands out is the small screen on top of the camera. It looks like the same type of display as we know from the Fujifilm GFX-50S. That is good, because it is a useful screen that is easy to read and also keeps working when the camera is switched off.

Another thing that stands out is that there is no lettering or icons on the large dial on the right. This dial will probably offer different functions depending on which other button you press at the same time or which mode the camera is in.
Nikon Z lenses
Photos have also been leaked of three lenses for the Z-mount system and an image of the F-mount adapter (Nikon FTZ F Mount), which allows you to keep using your existing Nikon F-mount lenses on this new full-frame mirrorless camera.

These are a Nikkor 24-70mm f/4 S zoom lens, a Nikkor 35mm f/1.8 S and a Nikkon 50mm f/1.8 S.

But only one card slot and (as I understand it) a worthless battery life, I do see a few blunders here, if they really want to appeal to the pros with this at Nikon...

Ray wrote on Tuesday 28 August 2018 at 12:40 | replyPrices are now known and they don't exactly cheer you up as a hobby photographer. Much, much too expensive as well, and somewhat less importantly, the design isn't great either. Just wait and see what Canon comes up with.

LUMIX G9 with Leyca lenses too.
Nicon has adopted a lot from this camera.
