The upcoming Luminar 3 update introduces something Skylum is very excited about: Accent AI 2.0, the next step in the evolution of their Accent AI filter!

Accent AI makes a photographer's workflow simpler and faster. It takes care of general tasks such as dealing with shadows, highlights, contrast and more. The results are often quite good, and it handles a time-consuming task in a few seconds with just one slider.
Although Accent AI was already a must-have tool for many of Skylum's customers, it was not yet perfect. The colours were not always correct, images were sometimes over- or under-processed, and the technology did not recognise faces and people as part of an image.
The new Accent AI 2.0
According to Skylum, the new Accent AI 2.0 solves all these problems and the filter is smarter than ever! Accent AI 2.0 analyses photos, takes note of things such as faces and delivers a finished result that genuinely improves an image every time.
The filter is content-aware, which means you can now rely on Accent AI more. In most cases, you can replace the entire RAW Develop filter with Accent AI for beautiful results.
Skylum believes this is the future of photo editing, where you do not have to adjust the sliders manually because the AI will analyse the image and improve it automatically, making it look exactly as you saw it while taking the photo.

Speed- and content-aware technologies
With this update, Skylum has connected a new neural network that recognises certain objects better. They trained it on more objects and added a new "person class" that did not exist before. The results are truly impressive, allowing it to apply settings selectively, resulting in a more realistic image.
Accent AI is also part of many of the standard looks, giving these looks an extra boost as well. This means better results with the same images, especially when there are people in them.
Finally, Accent AI offers more careful colour corrections, providing greater accuracy and quality. It also works better with the hidden details of an image. If Accent AI 2.0 cannot make the object look better, it leaves it untouched.

The future of photo editing?
Skylum seems to understand that not everyone has the time or desire for time-consuming studies of how certain adjustments work. Skylum's goal with Accent AI is simple: to create beautiful photos with just one slider.
With the help of Accent AI, a photographer can take an average photo and then turn it into something truly magical in post-processing.
Accent AI 2.0 is Skylum's approach to the future of photo editing. They will continue adding extra features that build on this concept and analyse images to improve even more areas with AI-powered image enhancements.
Their goal is to completely replace the traditional methods of editing photos using new AI technologies that are not only smarter, but also produce significantly better results. They want to make learning how to edit images unnecessary thanks to the intuitive AI filters.
The upcoming Luminar 3 update is free for all current users. For more information about what is coming, check out the roadmap. If you do not have Luminar 3 yet, you can download a free trial.
