Tonight, there was another episode of the television programme Het Perfecte Plaatje. In these episodes, the Dutch celebrities photographed insects and created fashion photos in a studio of a model in a swimsuit with a necklace on a bull.
Insects
For their first assignment, the six remaining Dutch celebrities had to photograph insects in a nature reserve. The photos had to be taken with the Canon EOS M50 mirrorless camera.
They could choose between the Canon EF-M 28mm f/3.5 Macro IS STM lens and the Canon EF 100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM.
The EF-M macro lens, with its built-in ring flash, was apparently not very popular, as all the photos submitted by the contestants were taken with the 100mm.
This is understandable, as you do miss some reach with the 28mm, despite the crop factor, and you still have to get very close to your subject.

Ryanne's spider was the winning photo. It is indeed a beautiful photo. It had already been indicated beforehand that photographing a spider was also allowed, even though it is of course not an insect. Herman's photo rightly came second.
Landscape photographer Bas Meelker came to help the contestants with some instructions and also helped the jury with the judging.

Fashion on a bull
For their second assignment, they received help from lighting expert Pascal Vandecasteele. He helped the Dutch celebrities with tips, and probably also with actually setting up the lighting, for the fashion shoot.
The approach was nicely over the top, which suits fashion quite well. The models had to be photographed in swimsuits on a mechanical bull. The focus was ultimately on the necklaces the models were wearing, which had to be captured swinging through the frame.

Marlijn won this assignment. Personally, this would not have been my choice. I preferred Patty's photo, and Ryanne's too. I would have cropped Patty's photo just a little further myself, so that her left hand was no longer visible.

In the end, Ruben had to leave the programme.
