Profoto has announced a new flash, the Profoto A10. This is the successor to the A1X and now has built-in Bluetooth and AirX technology.

Thanks to the addition of Bluetooth, you can now also use this flash directly from your smartphone. This means you can use professional flash light in your smartphone photos.
The Profoto A10 has a large screen on which you can easily adjust the settings. You can reduce the 76 Ws flash power by 9 stops.
At full power, the flash needs 1 second to be ready again, but at the low setting it is ready for the next shot after just 0.05 seconds.
The flash also supports Canon, Nikon, Sony and Fujifilm cameras, so you can use the TTL system with them too.
Price and availability
The Profoto A10 is available to order immediately and costs 1,075 euros. If you want the complete kit, including the wireless trigger for your camera, you pay 1,175 euros.
If you do not need the new Bluetooth or AirX functionality, you can get the Profoto A1X for slightly less, with essentially the same flash power and quality.
Looking for something on a smaller budget? The Godox V1, which is essentially a clone of this Profoto, may be interesting.
