Profoto C1: flashes for your smartphone

Profoto, known for its professional studio flashes, announced the Profoto C1 and C1 Plus yesterday. Two very compact flashes for your smartphone.
The flashes connect to your phone via Bluetooth, after which the Profoto photo app can control them.
In my view, this is a very smart move by Profoto. Smartphones are already the most widely used cameras in the world and their image quality is improving rapidly. Combining a smartphone with a compact extra light source that you can use quickly and easily can certainly improve photos.
You can use Profoto Clic accessories with the C1 and C1 Plus.
For example, colour filters or a grid.
These are LED flashes, by the way, and both can vary in colour temperature between 3,000 and 6,500 Kelvin.
What I personally would have found really cool is if you could use the C1 to trigger other flashes. At the moment, this will probably only be possible optically, which is still fun to play with.
Difference between the C1 and C1 Plus
The C1 is slightly smaller and can produce a maximum of 1,600 lumens of light. The C1 Plus can produce 4,300 lumens of light. Quite a bit more, then.
The C1 Plus also has a Profoto AirTTL receiver, which means you can use the flash with, for example, a DSLR camera and a Profoto AirTTL trigger.
Another advantage of the Plus is that it has a threaded connection, so you can place it on a tripod.

Price and availability
The Profoto C1 costs 299 euros. The Profoto C1 Plus costs 499 euros. Both are available to order immediately.
Godox R1 and R1F
Incidentally, an hour before Profoto announced these new flashes, Godox also launched a similar product. It is slightly less attractive in design, if you ask me, but probably also quite a bit cheaper, although the price has not yet been announced.
