ACDsee Gemstone as a Photoshop alternative

ACDsee is no newcomer. It has been around for many years and offers an extensive range of software for photographers. Now there is ACDsee Gemstone, a new programme that may be a good alternative to Photoshop. You can currently download the beta version for free, with no obligation to buy.
Gemstone is a new programme with a multi-document interface. It supports the use of layers, and the built-in raw editor supports files from no fewer than 500 camera models. That is the case at the time of writing.

The multi-document interface makes it possible to open and edit multiple documents at the same time. Using layers gives you, just as in Photoshop or Affinity Photo, the ability to create highly complex edits.
The user interface promises a layout comparable to that of the well-known competing software. This means it will be easy to switch if you are interested. The built-in Frequency Separation, liquify and colour wheel functions stand out.
It will come as no surprise that ACDsee Gemstone will work seamlessly with the other well-known software, such as ACDsee Photo Studio Home 2021 and Digital Asset Manager.
A beta version of ACDsee Gemstone is currently available to download for free, allowing you to try out the programme extensively. There are some limitations to this beta version. It is only available for Windows 64-bit, and compressed Fujifilm raw files and the new Canon cRaw are not yet supported.

Bear in mind that a beta version may still contain some errors, which will of course be fixed before the final version. After all, there is a reason it is called a beta version, or test version.
