Choose a beautiful lens to go with it, and get started. Bear in mind that it is always manual focus.

This camera also has a special feature. It only shoots in black and white. There is also a colour version available, should you still want to work in colour. So perhaps it would be interesting to have one of both models?

Leica S3

Full frame is for the masses. Of course, you won't settle for anything less than a medium-format sensor. The Leica S3 is a statement. It is beautiful in its ugliness.

Perhaps the camera doesn't produce as good an image as, for example, the Fujifilm GFX 100. But then again, this is Leica and it costs twice as much. So the camera is twice as good, right? Besides, the buttons are better here, should you decide to use them.

As far as I have been able to see, the camera is no longer available in the Netherlands. That is of course no problem. You can simply take your private jet to any place on Earth where there is still one. Then you can get away for a bit at the same time.

In het analoge tijdperk heb ik ooit eens met een Hasselblad mogen fotograferen. De body is niet het enige dat telt. Vooral het glaswerk (de kwaliteit van de lens) bepaalt de kwaliteit van de foto.
Ik ben geen 'dikke nek' en voor mij zou dan ook een Canon EOS R3 of R5 meer dan voldoende zijn als geld geen rol speelt. Maar zoals altijd is de wens de vader van de gedachte en gebiedt de realiteit mij naar mijn draagkracht te kijken en dan kom ik niet verder dan een redelijk geprijsde middenklasser.

Gaaf Nando. Jouw knipoog is volop in beeld én scherp. Maar als ik het mag zeggen, blijf ik lekker met mijn Sony RX10 IV aan het werk. Ideale camera voor op reis en alle andere activiteiten. Vaste lens met een bereik van 24 - 600 mm en toch rake beelden. De één kilo camera voor het betere gooi- en smijtwerk. (en daarnaast nog de Sony A7 voor het fijne werk)

Het is weer eens iets anders, en ook wel prettig eens te lezen wat de duurdere segmenten kunnen en vooral kosten. Het geeft tevens aan wat je kunt kopen bij het winnen van een loterij. Daarbij komt nog, dat je de lenzen die je erbij zou willen hebben, toch een extra loterij lot kosten. Alles bij elkaar een heel erg leuk artikel met veel weetjes, dat ook een stukje realiteit aangeeft. Met mijn Canon D5 mark 3 ben ik nog steeds dik tevreden. Bedankt Nando.

Maar met de allerduurste camera kan je ook maar een foto nemen. Je kan er bijvoorbeeld niet in 3 seconden tot 100km/uur mee optrekken. Haha ... goed artikel.

Druipt van het cynisme inderdaad. Iedereen heeft zo een eigen budget en eigen redenen om iets aan te schaffen. Uiteindelijk gaat het er om wat je ermee doet. En daar kom je op het probleem: voor sommige "takken van sport" heb je nu eenmaal andere cameras nodig.

Ik had vroeger een toestel waarmee de astronauten op de maan foto's hebben gemaakt. Helaas heeft iemand die laten vallen en de rest is wel te raden.Sindsdien heb ik een Nikkon D90. En daar doe ik alles mee. Maakte dezelfde foto's als mijn vriend met een Hasselblad. Wil niet anders. Ben heel dik tevreden. Heb wel een telelens en Macrolens in de loop der tijd bij gekocht. Vraag mij af of een groothoeklens betere beelden geeft. Anders laat ik het zo.

Een fraai artikel uit de reek: "Het kan altijd nog gekker". De enige serieuze camera die ik hier voor mezelf zie is de Hasselblad HD6 met 400Mpix. In technisch of reproductiewerk kan ik me hier wel iets bij voorstellen. Maar met een prijskaartje van 50K euries (alleen body?) ten eerst buiten mijn budget en ten tweede ver buiten mijn bucketlist. Ik ben eigenlijk best tevreden met mijn Canon EOS 5D mark IV en een paar fantastische L-serie objectieven en voel me daar wel verwend mee. Het woord "tevreden" is niet meer zo in de mode helaas

Ach het is maar hoe je het bekijkt en welke foto's die je maakt en vooral waar.
Mijn Hasselblad H6D-400c MS is geweldig maar eigenlijk zeer ongeschikt om daar eens op een evenement mee rond te gaan lopen maar voor mijn studio Fashion werk gewoon het beste.
Verder heb ik 4 Sony camera's voor al het andere de 7, 9, 1 en RX10 IV.

Ik zou toch voor de Sony A7IV gaan. Ben nu toch al aan het menu gewend. Heb nu de A6500 en maak daar ook mooie foto's mee. Zou wel het verschil willen zien met andere gelijkwaardige camera's.

Leuk stuk weer, Nando.
Ook mij groeit het niet op de rug. Toen ik nog analoog werkte, had ik altijd de droom een Mamya 6x7 of een Pentax 6x7' te kunnen gebruiken, leek me het einde.....
Nu ben ik zéér tevreden met m'n D500, had ik nog wat geld over voor glas...

Leuk artikel. Mooie knipoog ook. Ondanks het menu ben ik super blij met mijn Sony RX10-IV en RX100-VI. Na jaren met diverse Nikon spiegelreflex camera's rond gezeuld te hebben is het nu elke keer een feestje om relaxed met 1,5kg te gaan fotograferen.

Een technische camera voor portretten; met verlopend scherptevlak en weinig scherptediepte krijg je heel aparte effecten. Vroeger een tijdje met een Linhof gewerkt, moet je niet mee willen lopen en geen beweeglijke kinderen mee op de plaat willen zetten, maar voor opvallende portretten wil ik er nog wel eens eentje. Dus wie een winnend lot voor me heeft, dan weet ik er een goed doel voor. Maak ik gratis een portretje van die gulle gever....

Leuk om te lezen Nando!
Vorig jaar heb ik een canon 90D gekocht na veel jaren met plezier met een 500D gefotografeerd te hebben en langzaamaan gespaard te hebben voor een nieuwe camera. Ik ben erg blij met deze camera, zeker nu ik er een 18-135 mm bij heb gekocht dit voorjaar. Als amateurfotograaf heb ik hier ruimschoots voldoende mogelijkheden mee.
De dure speeltjes laat ik graag aan wie niet wat te doen met zijn/haar geld, hoewel ik daar ook wel een nuttiger bestemming voor zou weten. Of natuurlijk aan professionals die wat zwaarder werk nodig hebben.

Ik ben net begonnen met fotografie. Mijn droom is om over een aantal jaar een goede fotograaf te worden.
Ik heb altijd en nog steeds met een canon gefotografeerd. Deze camera die hier worden genoemd. Zijn allen natuurlijk fantastische eerlijk gezegd nooit geweten dat er zulke dure tussen zitten Ik heb nog te weinig ervaring en verstand van de camera's.. Dus kan geen een uit deze serie exclusieve camera's kiezen. Ik persoonlijk zou gaan voor een van de canon R serie.
Maar dromen mag altijd. 😀📷

Omdat ik nu eenmaal voor Sony heb gekozen en mij dat goed bevalt zou ik dan voor de A1 gaan maar ik denk dat ik nog liever in een mooie lens zou investeren want ik denk dat je daar meer profijt van hebt.

Ondanks dat het natuurlijk een inhoudelijk weinigzeggend stukje is en vooral cynisch bedoeld, wil ik toch wel opmerken dat het in principe helemaal niets uitmaakt wat een camera kost, veel belangrijker is toch wat je er mee verdient? De Leica en Hasselblad dames en heren zijn toch veel al goed betaalde Studio & Fashion fotografen, gewoon omdat de kwaliteit die ze er mee leveren ook zoveel beter is.
Daarnaast zou ik nog willen opmerken dat de 1DxMkIII ook geen 7000 kost.
De Canon R3 ook niet maar al kosten ze maar 2.000 als ze niet te leveren zijn... (2 besteld en wachttijd inmiddels een half jaar en nog geen enkel positief vooruitzicht) heb je er ook niets aan.

Met mijn Canon 6D maak ik ook fantastische foto's hoor. Zonder goede piloot vliegt zelfs de Joint Strike Fighter niet rechtdoor.
Hoewel.........die R5 wil ik ook wel in de schoen vinden hoor.

Beste Nando, leuk artikel! Ik zou graag meer van de techniek willen weten over de laatst genoemde camera's. Ik ben heel erg benieuwd naar Phase One XT IQ4. Is dat te vergelijken met die oude analoge technische camera's of is ie anders? Mijn eerste camera was een zekere ZENIT en Nikon 810 maar blijf ik bij Cyanotypie werk. Maar mocht ik ineens over veel geld beschikken, wil ik de laatste drie hebben Dank u zeer!

@Stêr: De techniek is in feite hetzelfde als alle andere camera's. Een (grote) sensor die licht vangt, en een body waar de achterwand met sensor op geklikt wordt.

Piet VdEynde, enkel jaren terug : koop geen Leica monochroom, want dan heb je geen invloed om verschillende kleuren om te zetten naar gewilde grijsgradaties in LR of PS. 😉. En gelijk heeft hij.

Ik blijf vriendelijk maar dit wil ik melden: Ik ben zeker tevreden over Canon. Met mijn 5D markIV.
Ik zag een tijd terug dat ze kwamen met de EOS R, mooie camera waarmee je geluidloos kan fotograferen dacht ik... en kocht er een. Probleem echter is dat banding optreed bij het fotograferen van rustige muziek (jazz, klassiek) in door schaars kunstlicht verlichte ruimten, in de silent mode dus. Heel vervelend en dan moet je terug naar de klik mode. Jammer. Ik hoop dat de R5 dat niet heeft maar ik denk het wel. Er wordt zo weinig mogelijk aandacht aan besteed. De EOS R met silent mode is gewoon jammer. Je koopt zo'n toestel toch om er mee te doen waar het goed in is?
Ik blijf wachten op een global shutter (heb je geen banding meer).
