A new year comes with resolutions. We all know them, and they come back every year. It is difficult to stick to those resolutions, or to keep them up. But who knows, perhaps you do not need any resolutions at all.

What am I going to do, you may wonder? I have thought about that myself too. The answer is picking up light painting. It is something I have wanted to do for a while, but have not got around to yet. That is my photography resolution for 2024.

My intention is to look more at famous photographers and let myself be inspired by them. Not to copy the idea but to translate the ideas into my Photographer DNA and become a better photographer again. You can also use AI to find famous photographers linked to a subject. The results are not gospel but they do help a little.

Good question Nando. And I do have good resolutions. This year I’m going for my Master Qualification at MPN. I’m incredibly excited about that. The prospect of getting two coaches alongside me who will help me reach as high a level as possible, I find possibly even more interesting than achieving the qualification itself. Figure out what and where I can practice infrared and aerial photography in nature ... and then actually do it.
A lightweight drone (max 249 g) that can be converted into (or is) an IR camera and then still find IR filters for it, that would be great. But, I haven't found either of those yet.

My New Year's resolution already started in December…20 years of digital photos sorted.
